My musical page
I have been playing the guitar since 1968. Before that, four and a half years of violin. I taught myself the guitar. And always asked good guitar players for a while to show me more. The result is a very special way of playing with the strings.
Usually the words come first, and the rhythm and melody of the rhymes lead me to the song.
Sometimes I also find beautiful poems to which there is no melody. Then I make my own song out of it. Like “In the Evening.” Of course, there are also many songs – English, German, Italian, Spanish – that I like so much that I make my own version of them.
You can hear me sometimes live or on YouTube in my channel. I have linked a few examples on this page.
In the evening: My song to a wonderful poem written a hundred years ago by the Jewish journalist Berthold Viertel.
Barbazzano: Live in Wein Feldmann my song from and about Tuscany.
If Wishes Were Horses: A song written by David Baerwald against the US war in Iraq. Music Stephen Barber.
The song was written in Domburg, one of my favorite vacation destinations on Zeeland in the Netherlands.
When I played it to my son for the first time, he said that it should be released as a single 😉
